Warranty

The 2 year warranty comes into effect at the time the work in the contract is completed and signed off by the customer. The warranty is operational for a period of 24 months from the date of completion of the work specified in the contract.

FOR THIS WARRANTY TO BE VALID, THE CUSTOMER MUST:
  • Connector.Connector.

    Have payed in full the contract price of the project

  • Connector.Connector.

    Retain a copy of the original contract

  • Connector.Connector.

    Make the property accessible to the contractor, or his employees to perform the repairs

Restrictions on the Warranty:
  • Work in which contractors other than those who represent Perry Wellington Professional Painting were involved (ex. Preparation completed by another contractor or home owner before Perry Wellington Professional Painting begins work)
  • Any areas or projects where the contractor did not supply the paint or materials
  • Failure that is due to structural problems such as shifting, settling or movement
  • Repairs to horizontal surfaces or any surface that, by virtue of design permits moisture to collect. Surfaces include, but are not limited to, window ledges, decks, railings, stairs, porches, roofs, and gutters
  • Natural weather occurrences such as hail
  • Areas that are not conducive for paint application such as wood substrates where wood rot has set in OR plaster walls that have recurring failure issues
  • Surfaces made of or containing galvanized metal
  • Bleeding caused by knots, rust or cedar
  • Interior cracks which are typically the cause of settling and/or structural issues
  • Any concrete coatings including epoxy or urethane
  • Bubbles forming on cedar siding which is typical due to the natural oils in cedar
  • Chipping on knockdown popcorn style stucco that is prone to chipping and was not coated with elastomeric coatings
  • Bubbles forming on cedar siding after job completion. Cedar siding is well known to be prone to bubbling

Repairs under this warranty will be performed only on specific areas where peeling, blistering, or chipping has occurred and only to the level of surface preparation described in this contract.

Specific Items not covered by the warranty include roofs, galvanized metal that has not been stripped, aluminum or any baked on factory finishes and horizontal surfaces that are prone to moisture retention including but not limited to porches, stairs, floors, and decks.

Unforeseen Conditions

The estimate is conducted based on visual appraisal and the inspection of surfaces in need of work. If problems and complications arise at the time that the work begins that could not have been predicted based on visual inspection then the customer must pay an agreed upon price to solve the new complication. Examples would include but not be limited to failure of previous and therefore hidden paint systems under the current paint system OR a stucco problem as opposed to paint problem OR mould or mildew under the current paint system.

Colours

Colours are chosen and signed off on prior to work commencing. If the Customer wishes to change the colors after the paint supply has been purchased then Perry Wellington Professional Painting will charge for the extra time and material and any expenses incurred for the original color(s)
